Presidio is a new restaurant located in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago. With a food and beverage menu that is inspired by culinary philosophies and traditions of Northern California and the San Francisco Bay, it is a welcome addition to the Chicago food scene and my new favorite!
First things first: the cocktails. Anyone that knows me, knows that I appreciate a good stiff drink. Presidio did not disappoint! Their cocktail program is seriously top notch. Seen here at the top left is “The California Derby”: bourbon, cognac, white port, apricot, toasted cinnamon, grapefruit, and tiki bitters. The drink seen in the top right is “The Jolly Roger”: barbados rum, battavia arrack, curried sweet potato, lemon, egg white, and sage. And seen in the bottom is the “Presidio Pisco Punch #1” chilean pisco, chilis, mango, lime, coconut water. They were all delicious but I think that my favorite is the pisco punch. It has a really great balance of spice and sweetness. It is the absolute perfect drink for the upcoming warmer months. I think there’s a good chance I’ll be there a lot this summer!
Next up is the food. I’ve had a few dishes at Presidio and they were all frickin’ amazing. Executive Chef Shaun Connolly and Sous Chef Dustin Musgrave really know what they’re doing and it shows. The menu changes frequently (they print new menus daily) and features fresh and seasonally appropriate ingredients. I can really get behind a restaurant that switches things up and keeps me on my toes. The last thing I want is another restaurant where I order the same thing over and over again. I love to try new dishes! Here are a few of my favorites:
In addition to the incredible food and drinks, Presidio wowed me with their decor and service. Everything was just what I would want in a restaurant and I honestly can’t wait to go back!
