As many of you know, Presidio is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. So you can imagine my excitement when I found out that they started doing brunch! My good friend Ashley, of Sed Bona and @mushroomstew fame, alerted me to this wonderful news and we immediately made plans to head over there.
I love everything about Presidio. The cocktail program is always on point and Chef Shaun Connolly is so innovative with his dishes. There is never a misstep in my eyes. But I had only been there for dinner so I didn’t really know what to expect. But let me tell you: they really turned brunch on its head in the best way possible! I have never had such creative brunch dishes. Chef Connolly put a twist on the classics and it worked on so many different levels.
But first things first: the brunch cocktails. Duh, I like a good cocktail. We’ve established this. And of course I got a Bloody Mary. I can’t NOT get a Bloody Mary at brunch. We tried all of the new brunch cocktails and I can honestly say that my favorite one was the Municipal Code. I think Ashley agrees.
Then came the food. Ashley and I decided to split a few dishes because sharing is caring. I loved all of them, they were absolutely perfect. But my favorite was the Shrimp & Grits. I love the addition of thai flavors! It was so yummy!
Presidio is located in Bucktown at 1749 N Damen Ave. They’re open for brunch on Sundays from 11am-3pm. I know I will be going again on my next free Sunday. Maybe I’ll see you there!
